● The state assembly put out their proposed budget. It calls for a $1.8 billion increase in state school aid without any of the "reforms" Cuomo wanted.

It introduced a separate bill to give Cuomo the "reforms" he wanted, including changes to the APPR. It also included a bill to allow tax deductions for donations to private and public school. ● On Mon., March 9th, Tilles Center hosted Diane Ravitch at an educational forum. All the big names in this fight were there - including the Jeannette Deuterman from Opt Out Long Island , Zephyr Teachout, Joe Rella (superintendent of Comsewogue), Beth Dimino (teacher refusing to administer the state tests), New York Allies for Public Education, Carol Burris from Rockville Centre, Kevin Glynn from Lace to the Top, Marla Kilfoyle from Badass Teachers, and Sheri Lederman (Great Neck teacher suing NYS over her APPR rating.) The event was moved to Tilles Center after Hofstra pulled their endorsement. Over 1000 people showed up to the forum.
● On Thurs., March 12th, Westbury High School hosted Nassau County's educational forum. Speakers included Board of Ed members, administrators, teachers, parents and students. Assemblyman Ra, Assemblyman Saladino and Assemblyman Montesano came to support public education. Over 1200 educators and allies showed up.
